Before a wine is poured into the glass, it is poured into the mind. The idea starts in the mind to create a truly fine wine for the connoisseur. It starts with a passion for perfection, and the belief that something exceptional is worth nurturing. It starts with a spirit.

As the brand story unfolds, the journey began in 2005 – with Sanjeev’s enterprising energy. Armed with a degree in Economics from Symbiosis and an MBA from Pune, he entered the world of wine at a time when India’s wine culture was still finding its footing. Over the next two decades, he immersed himself in every aspect of the trade. From marketing and brand building to consumer engagement.

Developing a deep understanding of what transforms a label into a lasting brand. Guided by a passion for authentic wines that provides a singular experience, he put the idea into a brand reality.

And then came a perfect blend. Dr. Rolly Sharma joined the pursuit as its forza vitale. She has been an integral part of this journey from its initial years, but officially joined the company as Director in 2012, she brought with her a unique combination of scientific rigor and refined wine appreciation. Holding a PhD in Life Sciences and a WSET Level 2 certification, she contributes a thoughtful perspective that bridges product excellence, consumer experience, and the finer nuances of wine culture.

Together, Sanjeev and Dr. Sharma have taken Fishing Cat Wines to its stature of a global brand, sought after in many countries. Their vision continues to take the brand beyond borders. Bringing the spirit, heritage, and elegance of Italy to wine lovers around the world – those who drink life.
